The Tidal Room

A horizon, held in stone.

This imagined pavilion begins with a single gesture: a circle cut through a substantial wall. The opening gives the sea a boundary without diminishing its scale. Light, shadow and water become the composition.

Why these choices?

The stone is deliberately quiet. Its texture gives the sunlight something to reveal, while the reflection introduces movement without adding another object. The burgundy bench offers one intimate note against the larger geometry.

From an image to a place.

For a real coastal property, the orientation, view, exposure and existing structure would lead the conversation. An image can suggest an atmosphere; an architect must establish what the building can support.
